GAP WALK JOURNALS - VIII
Tuesday - October 28, 2008 Day - 237
Walking Days - 106 Total GAP miles 1832.7
This morning we woke up to a white world outside - well the
grass and the car tops were white, but none of it stuck on the
asphalt. We’re thankful for that. It was beautiful though, and I
did get some pictures of it.
After an early breakfast we headed out to the TV station
(LeSEA Broadcasting) where I was due for an interview this
morning. As we sat in the green room we visited with the other
guest for the morning Harvest show. Then we met the hosts for
the program, and were taken into the studio. It went well, and
afterwards we were given a tour of the studio, and a DVD of the
program.
Then we headed out to the highway to start for Minnesota where
we will be with our granddaughter and family for several days.
Our daughter, Alyce-Kay, is there with Kitty and JonMichael as
well. We’re looking forward to seeing them all.
We took turns driving again, and stopped at a couple of the
Oasis points along the toll highway. Our time changed an hour
to Central time. That really makes me feel like I’m heading
home. I’ve been on Eastern time since late February.
It was fairly early when we stopped at Wisconsin Dells to get a
motel for the night. We wanted to work on some paper work yet,
and also to review the DVD that we received from the TV
studio this morning. There were a couple of places that I wasn’t
real happy with my answers this morning, but they weren’t as
bad as I thought they were.
Lois, our granddaughter in Tennessee, called to tell us she had
just found on the internet that today was National Chocolate
Day. Well, there just happened to be a Chocolate store that we
had seen just a few minutes before she called. Of course, we felt
the need to celebrate this very special day, so we drove back to
the chocolate shop and bought a few pieces to help with this
celebration.
We’re trying to just relax a bit as well. After months of constant
walking, working, and concentrating on the business of this
walk, it is difficult to just relax. I find myself “feeling guilty”
about doing “nothing,” or sitting and watching TV.
I still am continuing to pray for our country. That will never
end. And I do hope that will be the same for you. Please keep
praying.
