GAP WALK JOURNALS - VIII
Friday - October 24, 2008 Day - 233
Walking Days - 106 Cumulative miles 1832.7
After we got up and ready to go, we worked on our ballots, and
got those finished and ready to mail. A little before 9 am I got
set up with my cell phone and waited for a call from WCDR
radio in Cedarville, OH. This was a fifteen minute interview. I
think it went well, and enjoyed talking with Chad who did the
interview.
A little while after 10:30 am, Lois called to say she was ready
anytime for us to come pick her up. Once we got on campus at
East Tennessee State University (ETSU) we called her to get
directions to her dorm. She guided us in, and we parked, then
went with her to see her room. From her dorm we went to the
post office to mail our absentee ballots back to California.
Next we went to lunch at a little sandwich shop near the
campus. We spent quite awhile there just talking. Then we
drove to Wal-Mart and did some shopping. Once we all got our
shopping done we headed for Starbucks.
Isaiah’s brother will be in ICU for a few days probably, so his
family is waiting much of the time in the waiting room at the
hospital. Josh is being kept heavily medicated to allow for the
healing process to work better. So we drove to the hospital to
meet Josh and Isaiah’s parents (Jim and Kathryn). It was great to
meet them and talk with them a bit. We also met Josh’s wife
and his sister.
While we visited with Isaiah’s parents, Jim spent some time
telling us how much they enjoyed Lois, and how well she fits in
with their family. That’s always good to hear. After a time of
visiting there, we headed back to our motel for awhile with Lois.
While Dave did some mapping Lois marked receipts for me for
my bookkeeping. I did some of the bookkeeping, but not enough
time to really get into the main part of it. I decided to get the
journal done so I can get to bed earlier after we take Lois back.
Now we’re getting ready to go get some dinner, and take Lois to
the hospital where she will spend the night with Isaiah’s family
again.
